Eagles’ Jackson: ‘It was time for a change’

It’s expected that those in the Eagles locker room will throw their support behind new starting QB Kevin Kolb. Many will be sharing a huddle with him.

But for the first time Tuesday, we’re hearing someone on the Eagles say that a change was needed. That infers a problem existed, which presumably would need to be fixed. The quote came from Eagles WR DeSean Jackson, who seemed to suggest during a radio interview on The Fanatic ESPN Radio in Philadelphia that Donovan McNabb didn’t fit into the Eagles’ youth movement.

Without hearing how the question was asked, here’s what Jackson said.

“My reaction, you know, it was time for a change,” Jackson told Mike Missanelli. “We’ve got some young players here. I’ve got to say that I’m just excited about everything, and I feel all the players on our team are excited about it also.”

Maybe Jackson chose the wrong words, maybe he let it slip intentionally, or maybe he was just being more honest than we’re used to
