Roundup: Favre watch continues
Among free agent signings, trades and other roster moves last month, you might have forgotten about the quarterback situation in Minnesota. Brett Favre, who led the Vikings to the NFC Championship game last season, hasn’t told team officials whether or not he plans to play next season.
And he may keep the team waiting. Sound familiar?
Vikings coach Brad Childress sounded like he has plenty of patience left as he discussed the 40-year old quarterback during a radio interview with KSTP:
“I still don’t, one way or the other,” Childress said. “I don’t know if he’s even thought about it or contemplated it. I [talked] with him briefly last week and I’m sure we’ll narrow it down as we get a little bit further.”

Rams end speculation, release Bulger
The Rams took the limbo out of Marc Bulger’s future in St. Louis, releasing the veteran quarterback on Monday.

With the expected addition of Bradford, A.J. Feeley on the roster as a veteran stop-gap and the fact that Bulger was due $8.5 million next season, his release isn’t a surprise

Hopkins, Jones taken to hospital
LAS VEGAS -- Bernard Hopkins collapsed to his knees in his dressing room, drained from a brutal fight and exhausted by the end of his 17-year wait for revenge against Roy Jones Jr.
Two of their generation's greatest boxers just might have ended their careers together in a Las Vegas hospital Saturday night, but only Hopkins earned the right to leave with a victory.
Hopkins won a grueling unanimous decision in his long-delayed rematch with Jones, emphatically avenging his loss in the famed champions' first bout in 1993.
Although both fighters often appeared to be shadows of their former selves, the 45-year-old Hopkins (51-5-1, 32 KOs) dominated nearly every round of a light heavyweight fight filled with wily veteran tactics and fueled by obvious mutual dislike.
